SEMS / I-ReSS 2016

Dear esteemed colleagues,

It is my privilege to invite you to the Society of Emergency Medicine in Singapore’s Annual Scientific Meeting / International Resuscitation Science Symposium 2016 (SEMS I-ReSS 2016)!

As you may know, the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) was formed to provide a forum for liaison between the principal resuscitation organisations around the word, of which the National Resuscitation Council of Singapore (NRCS) is a part. Later this year, the ILCOR will be releasing the Consensus of Science and Treatment Recommendation (CoSTR) of 2015. The ILCOR will be conducting its first international Business and Taskforce meetings since the release of the CoSTR in Singapore next year in February 2016, an event hosted by the SEMS and the Resuscitation Council of Asia.

In conjunction with this important meeting, SEMS will be organizing the Annual Scientific Meeting / International Resuscitation Science Symposium 2016, which will feature many speakers comprising of the top leaders and researchers of ILCOR exploring topics ranging from pre-hospital medicine, to basic life support and advanced life support in adult and paediatric patients, emergency cardiac care as well as post-resuscitation care. This will be the first Resuscitation Science Symposium outside of the US and Europe since the release of the CoSTR.

There will also be multiple scientific tracks featuring both local and international speakers that will cover other pertinent topics of resuscitative care such as Trauma, Critical Care, Emergency Cardiac Care, Medical Education, Disaster Medicine, Emergency Nursing, Pre-Hospital Medicine and Emergency Medical Services, Paediatric Resuscitation and Palliative Care. There will also be pre-conference workshops which include Critical Care Ultrasound, Emergency Airway Management, Emergency Medical Services workshops, HAZMAT workshops and ECMO CPR workshops.

In addition to the popular Inter-Hospital SIMGames, another new and exciting addition to the 2016 program will be the inaugural SEMS-Laerdal Emergency Medicine Services (EMS) SIMGames. Both of these exciting competitions will challenge hospital and EMS teams to display their wits and team spirit through the medium of simulation-based clinical scenarios.

The SEMS I-ReSS 2016 looks forward to being an international conference that will bring together an audience comprising of Emergency Physicians, Cardiologists, Anaesthetists, Intensivists, Paediatricians, as well as Nurses, Paramedics, residents and students.

Please mark your calendars for 27th and 28th February 2016 for an exciting 2 days of learning and sharing on the latest in Resuscitation Science and Emergency Medicine at The Academia, Singapore General Hospital.

Please refer to the attached mailer and contained website link to get further details on the pre-conference workshops, lecture and teaching tracks listings. Do pay attention to the closing dates for abstract submissions.

Please feel free to forward the invite and help publicise our society’s conference to relevant disciplines and colleagues – national and international.
